The Difference Between Custom and Stock Medical-legal Exhibits
Over the last few years stock medical-legal exhibits have become available online. You can select your exhibit from a stock of thousands of generic images. Every imaginable surgery, disease, condition, and anatomical view is available with just a few mouse clicks. The main advantage to using stock medical illustration is lower cost. Though stock illustrations are generally less expensive than custom illustrations, the best solution for a complex, clinical case is always case-specific, custom illustration.
Stock Medical Illustration for Exhibits
If all you need is a simple anatomical view, or the facts of your case are fairly straightforward, then stock medical illustration will probably work. Keep in mind that stock illustrations cannot be customized to the same level that custom illustrations can be customized, and stock illustration is generally not as persuasive as a case-specific illustration. There is even a chance that opposing counsel may show up with the same stock exhibit that you have (with a few label changes) to argue their case.
When to Use Custom Medical Illustration for Exhibits
Case specific, custom exhibits are absolutely necessary if you are working on a case with unique clinical circumstances. Unlike stock illustration, every detail in a case specific medical-legal exhibit can be customized and designed to clearly and succinctly illustrate the medical facts of your case.
By design case specific, custom medical-legal exhibits are highly effective persuasive tools. Custom exhibits are also valuable demonstrative tools that will help you and your experts educate and convince the jury on the merits of your case.
Are custom exhibits more expensive? Yes they are, because more work goes into developing them as effective tools. If accuracy, detail, persuasiveness, aesthetics and personal service are important to your case call at 713-699-1739 or email
