About Mike de la Flor, lead medical illustrator

Mike observes Dr. Bailey at Methodist Hospital performing an open total colectomy.
Mike is founder and lead medical illustrator at MD Communcations. Prior to working at MD Communcations Mike served as an illustrator in the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, the department of Biomedical Communication at The Univeristy of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and the department of Medical Illustration and Audio Visual Education at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.

Mike is a published author having written three computer graphics books including the The Digital Biomedical Illustration Handbook. He is also a contributing writer for 3DWorld, Computer Arts, and MacWord magazines. Mike was also an adjunct instructor at Kingwood College where he taught computer graphics.
